Obituary

Ann Thompson Taylor, 85, surrounded by her loving family, passed away on October 5, 2022 after a long battle with challenging health issues.  Ann, a resident of Woodstock, Georgia, is survived by her devoted husband, Horace Frederick Taylor, III (Ace), two children, Jennifer Seymour and Andrew Taylor, son-in-laws Mark Seymour and Michael Peyton, three granddaughters, Amy Luna, Amanda Hanson and Katharine Maffett.  Ann is also survived by five great grandchildren who she loved dearly, Parker Hanson, Camden Hanson, Gavin Luna, Ava Katharine Luna, and Everley Maffett, her granddaughters' husbands, who in her eyes, she considered grandsons, Kevin Hanson, Nino Luna, and Patrick Maffett.  Also, she is survived by her siblings, Don Thompson and Elaine McClelland, and preceded in death by her daughter Katharine Peyton, our beautiful Kathy.

Ann was born on June 19, 1937 in Manchester, Iowa to her parents, Junior Wright Thompson and Nadine Hall.  Ann grew up in an idyllic midwestern community and though life's journeys would take her to New York, Florida, and then to Georgia, she remained an 'Iowa girl' at heart.

After leaving Manchester, Ann ventured west to Denver where she graduated from Colorado Women's College.  It is there that she would meet the love of her life, Ace.  He was serving in the United States Air Force and stationed at nearby Lowry Air Force Base.  They were married on December 30, 1957 and begin a wonderful adventure of sixty-five years together.  Affectionally referring to each other as 'Annie and Acer', they were made for each other, raising a beautiful family and centering their lives and love around family and friends.  Their personalities, intellect and sense of humor always balanced each other.  Ann and Ace shared a love for travel, as well as hobbies such as square dancing, clogging, camping, and game nights with dear friends.  Her life was much like a rich, woven tapestry, filled with so many experiences and cherished memories.  As mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was the guardian of the family.  She was a wonderful gift and blessing to each of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Her endearing spirit, which was the center of our family's world, will live on in our hearts forever.

Please join the Taylor/Seymour  family on Wednesday, October 12th between the hours of 1:00-3:00 PM at Lakeside Funeral Home, 121 Claremore Drive , Woodstock for a gathering of friends to celebrate Ann and a life well lived.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - stjude.org .

So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.  John 16:22
