Ann Dewberry Vitala, 83, of Woodstock, Georgia passed peacefully on March 26, 2026, with family by her side. She is now reunited with her husband, Mike Vitala; her brother, James A Dewberry, Sr.; and her parents. Ann is survived by her daughter, Amy Vitala; her sister, Kay Huff; her stepson, Jason Vitala; and her dear friend until the end, Renee Moultrie.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Ann carried pride for her hometown throughout her life. She was a devoted fan of the Braves, Falcons, and Georgia Bulldogs, and rarely missed a chance to cheer on her teams. (She passed the day before the Braves season opener, perhaps after one last look at the injured list.) Ann participated in the Peachtree Road Race for many years, even well into her 70s. She found great joy in bringing people together over the years, helping organize the annual Kirkwood Spring Fling with her friends from Murphy High School, as well as gatherings with her Snellville Women's Club ladies.
Ann was outgoing, a little feisty, and full of life. She was an incredibly involved mother, never missing an event for her daughter growing up. She was thoughtful and creative, often crafting unique gifts for birthdays and homemade costumes for parties. Ann was a self-proclaimed chocoholic and lover of ice cream, known by many for keeping the house stocked with the best sweet treats.
With her strong work ethic and vibrant spirit, Ann was well respected in her work across fields like property management and bookkeeping; she even built a successful in-home daycare business while raising her daughter. Once she retired, she enjoyed dining out and shopping with her sister or friends and loved visiting her favorite beaches and mountain towns. Ann appreciated beautiful jewelry, lit up around dogs and babies, and adored Elvis Presley until the day she died. She will be remembered for her fierce independence, generosity, sense of humor, and ability to light up a room.
