Dr. Bonnie Pheroze Malvea MD. passed away on January 17, 2019 at the age of 91. Dr. Malvea was born in Allahabad, India. He attended Ewing Christian College in Allahabad, India. He earned his medical doctorate from SMS Medical College in Jaipur, India and later earned a MPH from Harvard University in Boston, MA.

Dr. Malvea enjoyed a long career as a physician. He taught medicine at the Christian Medical College in Ludhiana, India and did research at  Faulkner Hospital in Boston.  Dr. Malvea served as a visiting physician at Fort Campbell, KY and also taught at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. Dr. Malvea retired after several years of teaching at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Malvea was a member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Morrow, GA. He was greeted in heaven by his daughter Anita, four brothers, and other extended family members. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ronica; sister Pritam Benjamin (Bangalore, India); son, Arun Malvea; daughter-in-law, Lisa; son-in-law, Erik Swanson; and grandchildren Nisha, Niana, Taj, Marissa, and Rachel. He is loved by nieces and nephews in Canada, Virginia, Atlanta, and many more family members in India.

Dr. Malvea was a kind and gentle man with a love for people, patients, mentoring students, gardening and all of God's little creatures. He also became known for the care of rose and azalea gardens- crafting beautiful gems of multi-grafted flowers.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Dr. Bonnie Pheroze Malvea.   Visitation will be held at the Lakeside Funeral Home on Saturday, February 2nd from 2-4 pm followed by a memorial service from 4-5 pm also at the Lakeside Funeral Home.
