Obituary

On January 16, 2021, while surrounded by loved ones, Bradley Scott Prestridge went to be with the Lord at the age of 60. Brad was a loving and loyal husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a great love for life and blessed everyone he encountered with his love and compassion.
Brad was born on November 9, 1960, in Birmingham, AL. His hard-working and loving parents, Tim & Regina Prestridge, did a wonderful job raising their three boisterous and adventurous sons-- Greg, Brad, and Wade. They had a close-knit family, and their childhood was full of all the things little boys love: sports, days on the lake, and fun adventures with their grandparents. A natural athlete, Brad played football and wrestled at Parkview High School in Lilburn, Ga. Brad started a job in his twenties that led to a successful 35- year career in the roofing industry. His work ethic, head for numbers, relatability, and love for people paved the way for his position as Chief Estimator with Roof Management. He was a man of many hobbies. He loved traveling with his family and any activity that kept him outdoors with his many friends. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, and a faithful Auburn football fan. He also loved a good nap. In addition to his weekends at deer camp, Brad had the privilege of going on hunting excursions in Kansas and Canada, where he brought home his prized trophy Buck, who is affectionately nicknamed "Thor". He also spent time in Alaska, Florida, Idaho, Montana and Panama on fishing adventures.
Brad shared his life with his best friend, partner in crime, and wife-- Misty Free Prestridge. They were married on February 22, 1986 and spent 35 years together raising their children, exploring new places, spoiling their grandbabies and grandpups, and creating countless beautiful memories. Their love can be summed up by the fact that they often told each other, "I love you, but I like you too." Brad was an intentional and dedicated father to his four children—Bethany (Darren), Stephanie (Jon), Timothy, and Hunter. He gave them adventure, laughter, support, and so much love. He will continue to live on through the life lessons, interests, skills, and personality traits that he passed down to each of his kids. Brad also took great joy in being a Papa to his four grandbabies--Elliot, Hartley, Finley and Bradford--who absolutely adore him. He was a dependable, present, and fun Papa, and he made sure there was never a shortage of candy or donuts.
Brad was known for his generosity, his reliability, his genuine character, and his warm and magnetic personality. Brad's legacy will continue through his wife, his four children, his two sons-in-law, his four grandchildren, his parents, his brothers, his many nieces and nephews, his cousins, and a host of friends. He is greatly loved and will be missed more than words could ever tell. We'll see you again!

There will be a private family service at Calvary Baptist Church in Ballground, Ga on Saturday, January 23 at 11:00am. Information on virtual viewing can be found at http://www.prestridgefamily.com/
