Obituary

Bruce Edward Galbreath of Woodstock, Georgia, transitioned to glory on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Heritage Hospice & Palliative Care in Marietta, GA. He was born in Fulton, Missouri on June 9, 1952, to the late Roberta Mae (Bruner) and Granville Galbreath, Sr.

Bruce loved sports and set long-lasting records in football and track in high school. He was named the offensive football player of the year and was an outstanding halfback. He was a 3-year letterman and lead scorer and excelled as a defensive player. Bruce received numerous college scholarships for his extraordinary athleticism.

Bruce served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had a long career with Food Services of America and Teamsters and was a hardworking man who never missed a day of work, even when that meant digging through Denver, Colorado blizzards to get to and from work on time.

Bruce loved reading, fishing, taking road trips, watching his grandchildren play sports, and sitting on the porch to chat with neighbors. He also loved old-school music and shining up his and his family's cars in his free time.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Roberta and Granville Galbreath, Sr., and siblings John Galbreath and Granville Galbreath, Jr.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife Beverly (Fugate) Galbreath of Woodstock, GA; siblings Pam Herndon of Fulton (MO), Charles Galbreath (Cassandra) of Fulton (MO), Wayne Galbreath of Fulton (MO); sons Kevin Galbreath (Bethaney) of Gilbert (AZ), Brian Galbreath of Glendale (AZ), Lamon Galbreath of Woodstock (GA), Bryant Fugate (Lanedra) of Woodstock (GA); daughters Marlene Galbreath of Fulton (MO), Trish (Galbreath) Varner (Devon) of Canton (GA); grandchildren Darion, Onyeisha, Lamar, Aiden, Alijah, Bryant Jr., Bryana, Lamon Jr., LaBria, Sydney, Payton, Hunter, Carys, Ethan, Christian; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
