Catherine grew up in East Douglas, MA, and is predeceased by her parents Catherine and Jerome Kocur, and one brother, Jerry Kocur. She had many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins whom she cherished spending time with growing up. After college, she went to work for American Airlines and met and married her first husband Gerard Pelletier. Her dream was to have a large family and we can recall in her own words "all I wanted is one little girl"…. 7 daughters and 1 son later, she had a big family who she adored. After living in Queens, NY for seven years they moved and settled in Cresskill, NJ until 1992 then retired to Atlanta, GA.
She is predeceased by her first husband Gerard M Pelletier of 47 years. She is survived by their eight children and spouses, Bernadette (John) Pizzarelli, Claire Pelletier, Denise (Jim) Beck, Annette (John) Moffatt, Theresa Snow, Jacqueline (Stanley) Gancarz, Joseph (Kelly) Pelletier, and Monique (Joseph) Bruno. Twenty grandchildren and 14 Great-grandchildren. She is survived by her second husband James E. Shoop of 11 years. Predeceased by two stepsons Wayne and Keith Shoop. Survived by three stepsons and their spouses Scott (JoAnn) Shoop, Greg (Cheryl) Shoop, and Mark (Marilee) Shoop, and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Catherine also had many friends and was very dedicated to her faith and was an active member in different groups at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta.
Most of all she cherished her family and especially her grandchildren. Every time a new one came along she was as excited as if it was the first one. She had a heart of gold. She was loved dearly and will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers, she would love for donations to be made to her favorite charity St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
