Daniel Jackson Garland, 60, passed away February 2, 2021. Dan was born on August 13th, 1960 in Daytona Beach, Florida but grew up primarily in Unicoi, Tennessee. Dan received a baseball scholarship at Carson-Newman University, and would later graduate with a PHD in Psychology from the University of Georgia. Dan was a brilliant man who had an incredibly strong work ethic and was most recently employed as the Vice President of Academic Affairs for The Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
Dan was preceded in death by his father DJ Garland, and brother Manny Garland. Survivors include his mother Betty, his brother David and wife Beverly, three children; Daniel and wife Ashley, Brianna and fiance Josh, and Cody, as well as three grandchildren; Grace, Emma, and Daniel. Survived by extended family, nephews, and many close friends.

Dan was a loving son, father, and friend. His memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who received the pleasure of knowing him.
