Deborah Marie Tilley, age 64, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 8, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Spokane, WA, on July 3, 1954, to Earl Yake and Geraldine (Yake) White, having the opportunity to live in the various places her father was stationed while serving in the Air Force, from Hawaii, to Michigan, to Alexandria, VA where she finally settled to start her adult life. There she met her sweetheart Bob in 1975 on a blind date. They married on December 23, 1976, and the young couple started a family, with Debbie becoming mother to her children Bobby and Stephanie, and made her career as a loving mother and wife, while also working towards earning a Masters Degree in Counseling and Psychology. Debbie and Bob later moved to Jacksonville, FL, prior to moving to Alpharetta, GA, where she enjoyed retirement with Bob and her friends.
Debbie loved spending time with her family, especially camping with Bob and spoiling her grandkids. She also dearly loved her dog Molly. She was very creative and loved to spend time quilting at Sit & Sew, or just at home in her sewing room. She also loved volunteering at A Beacon of Hope, saving the lives of the unborn and leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. The loss is tremendous, and Debbie will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert Tilley Sr.; son, Robert Tilley Jr.; daughter, Stephanie Tilley; Father, Earl Yake; Mother, Geraldine White; grandchildren, Faith Tilley & Lyra, Lincoln, and Levi Bisase; sister, Kathy Campbell; brother, Eddie Yake; 17 nieces and nephews; and numerous loving extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Roswell, GA, on Saturday, May 11, 2019, with viewing from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, service at 3:00 pm, with a reception after.
