Don Richard (Dick) Shoup, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on October 9, 2024.

Richard was born on March 28, 1938, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He led an interesting life, from working on a farm and being a golf caddy to DJing on the radio and performing in a 16-piece band. He went on to have a successful career in facilities management.

He met Roz, his wife of 52 years, in Bellwood, Illinois, and knew he was going to marry her from the moment he saw her. His career led them to Madison, Wisconsin, and then to Marietta, Georgia, where they have been long-time residents.

He was a hard worker who provided for his family, while enjoying some of his favorite life hobbies such as golfing, playing saxophone, and watching the Atlanta Braves and UGA football. He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by those who knew him.

Surviving to honor and cherish Richard's memory are his wife, Roz; children, Ron, Rick (Christine), Debbie (Pierre), Cathy (late husband Rodney), Jodie, and Tommy (Lisa); grandchildren, Ashley (Paul), Davis, Cayla (Dan), Savana, Jayden, PJ, Michael, Christopher (Ramsey), Chad (Alicia), Brett, and Lindy (Michael); great-grandchildren, London, Nolan, Indy, and Graham.

Celebration of Life: Wednesday, October 16, 1 p.m. at Lakeside Funeral Home (121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA 30188)

Graveside Service: Wednesday, October 16, following the Celebration of Life, at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens (4355 Hwy 92, Acworth, GA 30102)

There will be a reception at the Shoup family home following the Graveside Service.
