Edward Clarence Bodoh passed away on May 23, 2023 at the age of 86.
Ed was born in Detroit, Michigan, graduating from the University of Detroit and joining the firm of what is now Deloitte, Touche Tohmatsu as an accountant after passing the CPA on his first attempt. He met and married his wife Patricia (Heinecke) in 1961, and they started their lifelong love of travel and new experiences. Moving from their first home in Michigan, they spent 3 years in Brussels, Belgium, 5 years in Minneapolis Minnesota, and then 23 years in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In Brazil, Ed graduated from the University of Rio de Janeiro and became a Brazilian CPA. Along the way, they raise a family, traveled to neighboring countries, and experienced life with a lot of "dad" jokes and love.
Ed retired as the Chairman of Deloitte, Touche Tohmatsu, Brazil in 1998, returning to the United States, first to Fearrington Village in North Carolina and, in 2021, moving to Woodstock, Georgia. He was an avid tennis fan, joining his wife and multiple Grand Slam tournaments. He was also a life-long stamp collector, collecting for 8 decades. One of his proudest achievements was urning a Life Master with the American Contract Bridge League while partnering with his son Kent. Ed and his wife were able to visit 6 continents.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, their four children, Kim (Val Browne) Bodoh, Kathy (Chris) Kerr, Keith (Karne) Bodoh, and Kent (Amy) Bodoh. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Kendra, Keegan, Kira, Lily, Audrey, Christopher, Ben, and Gavin as well as his brother Larry Bodoh. He will be honored in a ceremony on August 5th with his immediate family.
