Elaine Simpson (1947-2025)

Lois Elaine Lovell Simpson was a loving mother always full of grace, a generous and proud grandmother, and a loyal and funny friend. Elaine, 78, of Woodstock, Georgia died in Canton, Georgia after a brief illness on May 20, 2025.

Elaine was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1947 to Hershel Lovell and Omie Garner Lovell. She graduated from Osborne High School before studying at Kennesaw College. In 1967, Elaine earned a Stewardess Diploma and began a multi-decade career with United Airlines.

In 1974, Elaine met Phillip Simpson at Mount Paran Church of God. On New Year's Eve of that year, Elaine and Phillip were married. They were married nearly 46 years until Phillip's passing on October 31, 2020.

Elaine is survived by daughters Stacy Brown and Phillissa Rozansky, grandsons Shepherd and Grant Brown, granddaughter Evelyn Rozansky, and sons in law Drew Brown and David Rozansky.

She was preceded in death by husband Phillip, mother Omie Lee Garner Lovell, father Hershel Lovell, brothers Billy and Fred Lovell, and aunt Lois Williams.

Elaine and Phillip's lives will be remembered at Lakeside Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, with a visitation at 11am and a memorial service at 12pm.

The family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Woodstock Care Ministry in lieu of flowers.
