It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest Richard Bastidas. Richie passed away at the age of 85 on April 6th, 2023. While our hearts are broken beyond words, we are content in knowing Richie is at peace after a long battle with cancer.

Richie was the proud son of immigrant parents from Mexico and born and raised in San Francisco, California. He served in the United States Air Force and went on to have a successful career in computer programming. Richie loved to read and never stopped his pursuit to learn new things. While an incredibly accomplished man in his own right, his greatest pride and joy was his family. From recitals to sports games to graduations, he enjoyed every second of watching his family flourish. If there was one thing Richie wanted people to know, it was his love for his wife and how proud he was of everything his children and grandchildren accomplished.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Ann; His children, Dominique Cortara, Lisa (Mike) Martino, Denise (Eddie) Dodd, Tracey (Robert) Gates, and Craig (Laurie) Bastidas; His grandchildren, Stefano, Joseph, Alexandria, Dylan, Tony, Lucy, Sophia, Dallas, and Olivia; and his precious great-grandchildren, Ava Grace, Alexander, and Samuel.
