Francis V. Harris, 92, of Woodstock, died Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton with his family by his side.

Francis was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on July 9, 1929, to the late Jenny and Herbert Harris. Mr. Harris or Bud as he was referred to by friends, attended Cornell University, served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and later worked and retired from the New York State Department of Corrections. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church here in Woodstock. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, watching old western movies, and spending time with his beloved family.

In addition to his parents, Francis is preceded in death by his wife; Audrey Harris, his daughter; Deborah Blumenthal and his brother; Raymond Harris.

Survivors include his daughters Brenda Branch of Cadyville, NY, Judy Harris of Woodstock, sons and daughters-in-law; Thomas and Shari Harris of Acworth, Todd and Anabelle Harris of Woodstock, son-in-law; Peter Blumenthal of Armonk, NY, grandchildren; Karen and Andy Huber, Jennifer and Jeff Heckelmann, Sara and Justin Green, Jaclyn Swingle, Kaitlin and Brett Wilson, Kristin and Michael Pereira, Spencer, Seth and Kyle Branch and Isabelle Harris; eight great-grandchildren; Sophia and Sadie Green, Elise, Grace and Kevin Huber, Abby Heckelmann, Austin Wilson, and Eli Pereira, brother; John Harris of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and loving friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held, 11:00 am, Friday, January 14, 2022, at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 490 Arnold Mill Road, Woodstock, GA 30188. Father Larry Niese will be officiating. Inurnment services will be held following mass at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
