Frank Charles Spies, 71, of Woodstock, GA transitioned to heaven on March 24, 2019.  He was born June 22, 1947 in Seneca Falls, New York, the son of Francis Spies and Phyllis Spies (Malone). He graduated from Pace University in Westchester, NY.

He married Carolyn Smith in June of 1970. He was a friendly and loving brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a successful sales career at IBM. Because of work, he and his family lived first in New York, then Michigan, Illinois and Georgia. New York remained his favorite place.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Phyllis Spies and his mother-in-law Marianne and his father-in-law, Thomas Smith.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn, two children, Russell Spies of Marietta GA, and Allyson Stewart of Burlington VT; two brothers and sisters-in-law. Daniel and Flo Spies of New Windsor, NY and David and Sharon Spies of Washington Township, NJ. He is survived by his four grandchildren: Kyle and Olivia Stewart, Nathan and Cameron Spies; his daughter-in-law Melissa Spies;his son-in-law Rob Stewart; sister-in-law Sandee Zehnder and brother-in-law Bob Zehnder of Sandy Springs, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time on the lake with family and friends. As a young man he enjoyed playing football and later golf. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football and golf with family and friends. He will always be remembered for his kindness and love of family.

A memorial service will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on April 12, 2019 at Lakeside Funeral Home in Woodstock GA: 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA 30188. The service starts at 5 pm.
