Gary Alan Pittman, 82, of Woodstock, GA, passed away on April 20, 2025. Gary was born on January 2, 1943, in Peoria, Il to Audrey and Franklin Pittman.
After graduating from Northern Illinois University, Gary enlisted in the Navy on March 3rd, 1967. He served as a lieutenant on the USS Robert H. McCard DD822 during the Vietnam War.
Gary has been a part of East Cobb Men's Fellowship for 20+ years where he continued to grow his faith and biblical education with other believers. He began his service work with a homeless men's ministry in downtown Atlanta and then transitioned to participating in a prison ministry in Hall County that was ongoing until his passing. He spent many Sundays volunteering in Waumba Land, a small group ministry environment for preschool children at Woodstock City Church. His attitude of service and love for God extended to his family life where he was the spiritual leader. He exemplified compassion, love, and faith that was apparent to all who met him. Gary enjoyed working in the yard with his wife where he found great joy moving plants from one place to another. Whether it was fishing, playing cards, or teaching Bible study, spending time with his family was the thing he loved most.
Gary is survived by his bride of 51 years, Connie, two daughters, Janai Teoli & Tracy Allstadt, son-in-law Dan Allstadt, brother-in-law Charlie Moore, brother & sister-in-law Roger and Crystal Pittman of Wausau Wisconsin, three nieces, one nephew, and three four legged companions.
