Herman had a zest for life, loving fishing, hunting, and he loved taking family trips to the beach. Funny memories of Herman were camping with Doug, in the freezing snow temperatures, and Doug's feet so frozen, his Daddy took Doug's boots off - and held his feet to a fire..... instead of hunting! Lol. There were hunting times when they didn't pack well his Daddy took underwear from the drawers of the camper and put them on their heads trying to stay warm while sleeping. One of the most challenging sports moments was the fishing time when they had their tackle box sitting on the rocks at St Andrews Bay in Florida, and a huge wave come up and washed their tackle box and fish away!
Herman suffered the loss of his wife Josie Mae at an early age of 68. Through his Faith, he was blessed to join with Ruby Parsons, and they married. They had many trips to Vegas, Florida, Grande Canyon. After Ruby passed, Herman relocated to a senior community, and ultimately to his final destination of The Blue Garnett, located off the Square in Marietta. He was blessed to have a caretaker - Gilbert - which became his new best friend. They truly had a close relationship...Gilbert was holding Herman and had Doug on the phone with them as Daddy peacefully passed away.
