Homer "Wayne" Yandell, 81, of Woodstock, passed away October 25, 2024 at Peachtree Creek Memory Care in Atlanta after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Wayne was born April 18, 1943 in Dallas, Texas, to Jesse and Lottie Yandell. After serving in the US Navy as a Supply Technician on the USS Hull deployed throughout the Pacific, Wayne worked at the Plano Fire Department prior to moving to Roswell, Georgia. He worked with the Roswell Police department where he retired after 31 years of dedicated service. A man of many talents, Wayne also worked as a Funeral Home Assistant, Volunteer Fireman, Security, Salesman, and Special Needs School Bus Driver. He also was awarded a lifetime membership to the Georgia Association Chiefs of Police. He loved westerns, crime dramas, football, the Braves, entertaining, church, family, the beach and most of all talking to everyone. His smile and laughter could light up a room.

Wayne is survived by his devoted wife Sandy Lee Yandell.  He is also survived by son Mark (Pamela) Yandell, daughter Leslie Kelly, son Matthew (Elizabeth) Yandell, and daughter Skye Raimondi (Chase). He is also survived by grandchildren Codey, Tyler, Samantha, Jessica, Sawyer, Charlie, Garrett, Melania, Bella, Rocco, and great-granddaughter Ryleigh.

Services for Wayne will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 9:00AM at Lakeside Funeral Home, 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, Georgia 30188, followed by a precession to Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114 for memorial and military honors at 11:30AM.
