Howard Craig Jones, known affectionately as Craig, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Northside Hospital. He was 79 years old.

Born on May 28, 1947, in West Palm Beach, Florida, Craig was the son of the late Ella Gibbons Jones and Howard Chandler Jones. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy veteran before pursuing higher education. Craig earned his undergraduate degree from Florida State University, a Nursing degree from Emory University, and an MBA from Troy State University.

A dedicated healthcare professional, Craig made a lasting impact on countless lives. He served as a Transplant Coordinator for LifeLink of Georgia and worked as an Operating Room Nurse at Emory University Hospital, DeKalb Hospital, and Scottish Rite Children's Hospital, where he retired. His compassion, skill, and commitment to patient care touched many families and colleagues throughout his distinguished career.

Craig is survived by his loving husband of over 40 years, Scott McBride; his sisters Patricia Akes, Lynne Jones, and Gwen Ringdahl; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Gibbons Jones and Howard Chandler Jones, and his brother, Stephen Jones.
