Mr. James "Jamie" Clyde Slayton, Jr., 82, went to heaven on December 19, 2025.

Jamie was born on November 8, 1943, in Columbus, GA, to the late James Clyde Slayton, Sr. and Imri Zachary Slayton. He graduated from Harris County High School, Hamilton, GA, in 1961. He served in the United States Air Force Reserves. During his service, he was called to active duty and is a United States Air Force veteran. Jamie was a Buyer at Sinclair Refining Company for many years in Atlanta, GA. His career changed to Moving Consultant, and finally, he was co-owner of an Allied Van Lines Moving agency.

Jamie loved antique cars, especially Corvettes and Chevrolets. He and a friend restored a 1955 Chevrolet several years ago. He also loved sports and watching NASCAR races.

Jamie's faith in Christ was very important to him. He deeply loved his family and loved spending time with them.

Jamie was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Jeffrey Slayton.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eula "Deanie" Slayton; daughter, Suzanne Slayton; siblings, Nadine (Gary) Richardson of Hamilton, GA, Lynda (Mark) Land of Mexico Beach, FL, and Alvin (Rhonda) Slayton of Tiger, GA; daughter-in-law Christie Slayton of Douglasville, GA, and several nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Woodstock.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at Lakeside Funeral Home at 12:00 pm, with a visitation beginning at 10:00am.
