Jane H. Foster passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024. She was surrounded by family and those that cared for her during her final days. She was born in Huntington, "almost Heaven" WV and spent the majority of her life in Marietta, GA.
Many of our friends remember her as the neighborhood mom. She loved nothing more than having all the kids at her house. She put up with many of our shenanigans to keep us coming around. She was the "cool" mom. She helped many of our friends. Several of them lived with
her over the years.
She was always willing to help out those in need. She instilled her charitable ways in her children and grandchildren. She donated money when she didn't really have it to give, she drove cancer patients to therapy, volunteered at the humane society, and more.
Unfortunately, she experienced many life circumstances which made her strong, tough and independent. She was her spunky and feisty self until the very end. We heard many stories of her antics as her caregivers came by to check on her and love on her. She had a favorite "hand gesture" she used when she didn't like what they were doing. There was no wondering what Jane was thinking. She was always full of advice and tips, even if she had no experience. Greg really loved when she helped him drive (wink). Her son-in-law joked that she would even climb the ladder with him when he was helping her. You never had to wonder where you stood with her.
She was president of the neighborhood HOA -> a job she took very seriously. We think she may have even had a badge! One Christmas she drove us all around the back of the neighborhood to see the "offensive" branch in someone's front yard.
She had many careers over the years. Beginning at the American Cancer Society and ending with babysitting. She also worked at MCI in security - we will withhold her nickname from there - ha!
She was a social butterfly - always organizing get togethers. There were many social groups she coordinated and loved nothing more than getting people together. Some of her favorite things were Blenko glass, Marshall University, Terrell Mill Estates, emailing, laughing, movies, and outings with friends. We will never hear John Denver without thinking of her.
We would like to thank the Staff at Holbrook and Agape Hospice.
Donations to Shriners Hospital (Philadelphia) - use email address inhonorofjane@att.net so we can be notified.
Our lives will not be the same without her. We will miss her dearly! We will be having two Celebrations of Life. Please reach out if you would like to attend!
