Joanne Helen Williamson
December 10, 1926 – September 12, 2025
Joanne Helen Williamson, age 98, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on September 12, 2025. She was surrounded by love, with her daughter Jodi and son-in-law John by her side.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Anthony D. Vamvas and Nellie "Helen" Vienna Tufts, Joanne graduated from Clark University in Massachusetts. On June 17, 1950, she married Dr. Robert "Tex" Allen Williamson, and together they created a life full of love, laughter, and family.
Joanne was a devoted member of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Marietta, Georgia, where her faith and friendships flourished. She also cherished her time with the Ladies of the Court, forming lasting bonds with women who became close friends.
Joanne found peace and joy in her creative hobbies, especially knitting, needlepoint, and crochet. For Joanne, these crafts were more than pastimes — they were expressions of her love. Each blanket, scarf, beanie, and sweater she made continues to bring comfort to her family and friends, who will always remember her through the love stitched into every piece.
Joanne will be remembered for her sense of humor, elegance, and warm, compassionate spirit. Always impeccably dressed, with her hair done and lipstick on, she was a picture of grace. She gave freely of herself, with a touch of sass and an honest opinion, always shared with love.
Joanne is survived by her three daughters: Jodi Stulak (John), Pam Williamson, and Laurel Schaffer; her three grandchildren: Sage Snodgrass (Justin), Grant Bressler, and Andy Bressler (Melissa); her three great-grandchildren: Logan, Ryder, and Lennon Bressler; her godson and nephew, Dean Vamvas (Karen); and many dear friends and extended family.
She will be lovingly remembered in the memorial garden at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Marietta, Georgia, and, in time, reunited with her beloved husband at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cathedral City, California, where they will continue to "follow the rainbow" — a sentiment engraved on their plaque, a reminder of their shared love and journey. We will see Joanne's beauty in every rainbow and in the flowers she so cherished.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation (1673 Jamerson Road, Marietta, GA 30066), followed by a reception.
If you would like to send flowers, they may be sent to the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation (1673 Jamerson Road, Marietta, GA 30066). Alternatively, donations may be made to the church to support the care of the memorial garden, where her memory will continue to live on.
