The family of Mr. John "Ray" Jones Jr. is saddened to announce his passing on May 24, 2021, at his home in Canton, Georgia.

Ray was born on October 3, 1935, to the late John and Mary Jones in Gate City, Virginia. He proudly served in the United States Army and made his living as a brick mason. An avid St. Louis Cardinals and Tennessee Vols fan, Mr. Jones leaves a legacy that will not be forgotten by those who loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Diane Jones, and three children, Bruce Jones, Yvette (Frank) Whitmire, and Grayson (Melissa) Jones. Bruce (Faith) Jones, Annie (Andrew) Laird, Jessica (Cory) Johnson, Tim Whitmire, Gracie Whitmire, Caleb Helton, Addison Helton, and Colton Jones knew him as "PawPaw." Also surviving Mr. Jones are five great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
