John "Jack" McCormick Jr, age 83, of Woodstock, passed peacefully, on December 10, 2018 at his residence.

Jack was born in Lancaster, PA., on April 27, 1935 to loving parents, John and Catharine Stauffer McCormick. He attended Lancaster Catholic High School and Franklin and Marshall College before serving in the U.S. Army. On March 26, 1960, his life would change again, when he married the love of his life, Rosella. They would relocate to Livonia, Michigan and raise their three children, before moving to Atlanta, GA., in 1991. Professionally, Jack retired from TRW Inc. He was a devoted father and a loving husband. He was a parishioner at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Jack filled the room with laughter, telling jokes and stories. He was an outgoing, charming, funny, quick-witted, man, who touched the hearts of everyone he met. Jack's hobbies included, golf, reading, coaching little league football, baseball, and basketball, and Jaycees. He was an avid Penn State fan, and loved the beach, but most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Joanne McCormick.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Rosella, sons; John (Penny) McCormick and Jeffrey (Shauny) McCormick, daughter; Jennifer (George) Mesaros, grandchildren; Michael, Jessica (Nate), Reilly, Reagan, Joshua, and Ryan, sisters; Nancy Rote and Cindy (Jeff) King.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Jack's favorite charities; Shriner's Hospital for Children or St. Jude's Children Hospital.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Lakeside Funeral Home from 2:00 until 6:00.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 AM.
