Obituary

Mr. John Paul Scarry of Woodstock, Georgia passed away on August 20, 2021, at the age of 74. John was born in Palo Alto, California to John and Paulyne Scarry on July 16, 1947.
At the age of 18, Mr. Scarry joined the United States Navy and served four years during the Vietnam War. He received numerous commendations, including a Navy Unit Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for time served in Korea.
After his naval service, John made family his top priority. He married Irene Wylie and was a loving, gentle, and kind father to their two children, Sean and Paulyne. John was a meat cutter by trade and was well known by others in the industry for his skill and outstanding work ethic.
After retirement, he pursued his hobbies with the same passion he showed at work. He excelled at all past times he took up including photography, woodworking, and model railroading. He also enjoyed fishing, regardless of his success rate. Mr. Scarry was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock and diligently studied the word of God.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Paulyne Scarry, and his sister June Thaut.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Irene Scarry. Children, Sean Scarry, and Paulyne (Kevin) Wallace. Four grandchildren, Benjamin and Zachary Morris, Cade Wallace, and Kylah (Daniel) Mora. And sister, Jan Baunack.
