John Steven Wainscott, more familiarly known as Steve or Steven, 66, went peacefully to be with the Lord November 30, 2020, at home in the care of his loved ones. Steven was born March 29, 1954 in Covington, KY, to parents Charles Thomas, Sr. and Virginia Sims Wainscott. He was raised in East Point, GA, and ultimately planted his roots in Woodstock, GA where he raised his family. He was a proud co-owner of Infinite Crown and Bridge, Inc., along with business partner Robert Thackston. Steven enjoyed working, serving as an usher at First Baptist Church of Woodstock, visiting with friends, fishing, southern food and snacks, catching up on Andy Griffith and M*A*S*H from his recliner, family reunions, and time with his children, grand-children, and grand-pets.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Tom (Jane) and Bobby Wainscott, and wife Cheryl Denise Wainscott. He is survived by his daughters, Kristen Oni (Kevin) and Kelly Nellis (Frank), as well as his grand-children Hansen, Quinton, Jesse, Grace, and Francesca; his brothers Jeff (Vicky), Richard (Chuck), Billy (Pam), and sister Sandy League (Tony). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Steven was loved and cherished as a father figure to many.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., to honor and celebrate the life of John Steven Wainscott. We would like to invite friends and family to join us at the chapel at First Baptist Church of Woodstock. There will be a reception at FBCW to follow. We ask that you please wear a mask to respect the family and attendees. The event will be live streamed for those who are not able to attend.
