Joseph Cecil Mizell, 80, of Marietta, GA passed away on May 16, 2022 shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.  Joe was born on February 9, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.  His love for God, his wife, family and friends defined him and was displayed in all he did.  He was a genuine, caring man, always putting others before himself.

Joe was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock along with his daughters and grandchildren.  He served in his Sunday School class, led a men's Bible study and loved being part of his accountability group.

Joe is survived by his three children, Paul Mizell (wife Julie) of Statesboro, GA; Sara Mullis of Marietta, GA; Heather Cloys of Woodstock, GA; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brother Carl Mizell (wife Dove); three nieces and two nephews.  He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine Mizell, their daughter, Leslie Ryan, of South Carolina, and two grandchildren.

Celebration of Life Ceremony

The Celebration Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at First Baptist Church Woodstock in the chapel (A building).   Visitation will be at 1:00 pm and the service will be held at 2:00 pm.
