Joy Moon Diane Allen passed away on May 31st, 2024, from natural causes. She was surrounded by her family.
Joy was a lifelong lover of nature and animals, and her dogs (Teddy, Quincy, and Cassidy) offered complete companionship as they all spent time on the porch or walking through the yard. Joy loved spending time with family and was never happier than when her house was full of her children and grandchildren—especially when her grandchildren would spend the night with her. She loved to spend time with her friends, whether they were talking about life or just enjoying time on her back porch. She loved crafting and finding "treasures" for her house while thrift-store shopping.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents J.D. and Peggy Moon of Springdale, AR, her brother Jay Moon of Melbourne, FL, her maternal grandparents Mamie & Jack Breese of Siloam Springs, AR, and her paternal grandparents Carl & Joanna Moon of Tulsa, OK.
Joy is survived by her loving family, including her children and many grandchildren: William Wesley Wylie of White, GA (wife Mandy, children Jaylyn (23) and Madalyn (4)); Joseph JR Allen of Dahlonega, GA (wife Jennifer, children Reid (10) and Emmerson (7)); Jonathan David Allen of Woodstock, GA (wife Joanna, children Jonathan (10), Hudson (6), and a little one on the way)); Peggy Elisabeth Allen League of Kennesaw (husband Michael, children Finley (6) and Zelda (4)); and Justice Allen of Woodstock. Joy's surviving siblings include Jack Moon of Macon, GA, Jennifer "Jenni" Moon Allen of Acworth, GA, and Judy Burgess of Wheeling, WV.
Family will receive friends and family at Lakeside Funeral Home in Woodstock on Wednesday, June 5th, with a visitation from 10 am to 1 pm and funeral service at 1 pm. Joy will be laid to rest at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens, in a graveside service, immediately following the funeral.
Being that Joy was a lover of gardening and flowers, the family asks that all flowers and plants be sent to Lakeside Funeral Home.
