Judy Kay Barnes Brumley, 78, of Woodstock, GA peacefully passed away on May 7th, 2025 at Kennestone Hospital surrounded by family. She was born to William Arthur Barnes and Marguerite Weaver Barnes on March 24th, 1947 in Gastonia, NC.

Judy married her middle school sweetheart, Richard Sherrill Brumley Sr. on January 18th, 1964. Together they had three children, Richard Sherrill Brumley Jr, Matthew Scott Brumley, and Jennifer Annette Ashburn, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She earned an underwriting and mortgage lender degree which she used to become a senior underwriter for Georgia Federal and United Guaranty. During her retirement years she enjoyed spending time with her husband, family and dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother, Harry Dale Barnes, and younger sister, Caroline Sue Hawkins.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, her children, Rick, Scott and Jenni. Her five grandchildren, William, Melanie, Eva Maria, Annie and Ellie. Her great granddaughter Addie Kay.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Lakeside Funeral Home.
