Karl Hans Welz, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Woodstock, GA on 12/20/21. Karl was born to Anna and Karl Welz in Telfs/Tirol, Austria 9/20/44 and grew up with his sister Gertrud.

From a young age, Karl Welz had a fascination with science and the stars. He became an avid reader and the pursuit of knowledge was a lifetime ambition. Alongside this pursuit he travelled extensively. From working on cargo ships in South Africa, to Switzerland, and eventually from 1974, he ended up in the United States.

Here he met and married Vicky Karhu and their love for each other created three children: Karl Victor Welz, Renate Karhu-Welz, and Hans Nickolas Karhu-Welz. In 1983, Karl met his soulmate Bettie and her daughters Ericka and Carla, who he loved as his own. Karl and Bettie remained married until her passing in 2015.

Most famously, Karl invented the orgone generator in 1991 and Orgonite in 1992. Karl was fluent in 7 languages and knew bits and pieces of more than 20. He would often speak in a person's native tongue when he met them out in public. Karl loved to cook, listen to classical music, and crack jokes. He was a generous and loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. When visiting his home, you'd often leave with more than you arrived with and always with a smile.

Karl embraced his position as the author of his own life. He had an extensive network of friends, admirers and loved ones across the world who will miss his jokes, wisdom, and ability to help you see things from a different perspective.

One of Karl's favorite sayings was "There are more realities than there are people on this planet" and his perspective in life was based on that.

Karl Hans Welz was preceded in death by his parents Anna (Kranewitter) Welz and Karl Welz, and his loving wife Bettie Welz, Loving memories of Karl will forever be cherished by his sister Gertrud Welz, sons, Karl Victor (Chante') Welz, and Hans Nickolas Karhu-Welz, daughter, Renate Karhu-Welz, stepdaughters Carla (Earl) Mitchell Randolph and Ericka Saulsberry, nephews Alexander Pupparo and Claudio Pupparo, grandchildren Karl Vincent Welz, Christel Kairi Moody, Sierra C Welz, Eliot Karhu-Welz, Brandin Randolph, Maisha Saulsberry, Christian Randolph, Brittany Saulsberry, Ryan Saulsberry and Jazmeena Saulsberry, 12 great-grandchildren, cousins and friends all across the world.
