Mr. Kyle "Hotshot" Edward Miller Sr., age 82, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta, Georgia, with his beloved wife by his side.
Kyle was born on August 20, 1944, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Josephine Johnson Miller Weaver.
Kyle was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, gifted musician, talented artist, and, perhaps most famously, an extraordinary bowler whose accomplishments and passion for the sport left a lasting impression on the bowling community throughout Georgia.
Kyle's love for bowling began in 1972 when he accompanied a friend affectionately known as "Buddy" to a bowling alley for what was supposed to be a little fun. From the moment he rolled his first ball down the lane, he was hooked. What began as a simple outing quickly became a lifelong passion that would bring him countless accomplishments, friendships, and cherished memories.
Over the years, Kyle became a legendary figure in Georgia's bowling community. It seemed that no matter which bowling center he walked into, someone knew Kyle Miller. Throughout his remarkable career, he bowled more than 40 perfect 300 games, achieved numerous 800 series, and maintained an impressive lifetime average. His talent and dedication earned him countless trophies, rings, watches, and other awards. One of his proudest accomplishments came on May 23, 2010, when he was inducted into the Northwest Bowling Hall of Fame.
For Kyle, bowling was much more than a sport. It was a place where lifelong friendships were formed and memories were made. Whether competing in leagues and tournaments, sharing stories with fellow bowlers, or teaching someone how to hook a bowling ball, he brought an undeniable passion to the game. He was admired and respected by countless teammates, competitors, and friends throughout the years.
Bowling also became an important part of his family's life. His children practically grew up in bowling alleys, and eventually his grandchildren did too. The memories made throughout those years will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Beyond bowling, Kyle was a man of many talents. He played the guitar and banjo beautifully, had a wonderful singing voice, and possessed a natural gift for art. His creativity and musical abilities brought joy to those fortunate enough to experience them.
Above all, Kyle cherished his family. He and his beloved wife, Linda, shared 58 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, companionship, and countless memories. Together, they raised two children and were blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Kyle was a man of few words, but he had an unforgettable sense of humor. He was known for his corny jokes, playful teasing, and the special nicknames he gave his grandchildren. Although he wasn't always one to express his affection openly, his family never doubted how deeply he loved them. His humor, laughter, and the little things that made him uniquely Kyle will be treasured for generations to come.
Kyle was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Johnson Miller Weaver; his brothers, Herschel Miller, Billy R. Miller, and Jack R. Miller; his sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Roberts, Georgie Rader, and Virginia "Jenny" Gaylon; and his beloved grandson, Austin Jason Chapman, who passed away in 2012.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Linda S. Miller of Kennesaw, Georgia; his son and daughter-in-law, Kyle E. Miller Jr. and Carla Miller of Holly Springs, Georgia; and his daughter, Natalie S. Chapman of Kennesaw, Georgia.
