Lana Brown Willingham, age 76, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, at Northside Hospital in Canton, GA. She was born on November 20, 1948, in Cincinnati, OH, to James and Helen Brown.
Lana is survived by her first cousins, Betsy and Phyllis in Ohio, Dixie in Indiana, and Everett in Tennessee.
She dedicated over 40 years of her life as a skilled and respected medical technologist at the Northside Hospital Laboratory. Her work was more than a job; it was an extension of her caring nature and commitment to helping others. Lana was also a devoted member of Canton First Methodist Church, where she nurtured her faith and found comfort and community.
Lana had a deep love for animals and nature. She was never happier than when she was riding tall and proud on her beloved Arabian stallion, Stormy, or snuggling with her sweet dog, Rusty. She found true joy and companionship with her loving partner, Deryl Pate, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with laughter, support, and affection.
She was a loyal friend who deeply valued the love and companionship of those around her. A passionate sports fan, Lana especially loved cheering for the University of Cincinnati. Her spirit as a lifelong horsewoman was evident in the many joyful years she spent on her farm in the Canton/Hickory Flat area.
Lana touched the lives of everyone who knew her with warmth, kindness, and quiet strength. Though she left us too soon, her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. We take comfort in knowing she is at peace and in a better place.
