Obituary

Larry went to be with his Lord on January 11 at Tranquility Hospice, where he was surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on January 2, 1949 in Gardner, KS to the late Jean and Ralph Canning. He left high school early to serve his country in the United States Army, where he did 3 voluntary tours of duty during the Vietnam war. When he completed his last tour with the military he moved to South Dakota where he owned and operated a pet store and this is where his first two sons, Matthew and Curtis were born. He would later relocate to Iowa where he worked for many years in sales at Midwest Industries. In 1990 he moved to Missouri to work for OMC where he advanced to Executive VP of Sales & Marketing. Most importantly he met the love of his life, Donna and they were married in 1994. He also gained two additional children, Sara and Aaron. After a few years his career took the family to Georgia.

Larry had many interests, first and foremost was spending time with his wife, children and 10 grandchildren. He enjoyed golf, scuba diving, fishing and weekends boating with the family as well as volunteering at his church. He always created memorable occasions for his family. His countless stories captivated the room. His personality was gravitational, and his determination was never lost on anyone around him. His generosity and efforts to bring to joy around him was boundless. He will be remembered for many things but being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and child of God is what mattered most to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Jean Canning and his sister, Dixie Lindquist. He is survived by his wife, Donna; son Matthew Kramer and his wife Magy, their children Lucy and Isaac; son Curtis Kramer, his wife Tara and their children, Taylir, Cadence, Liam and Knox; son Aaron Armstrong and his wife Courtney; daughter Sara Jensen and her husband John and children Kaitlyn, Kylie, Drew and Kendall; sister Terry Melchert and his brother Jim Kramer.
