Obituary

Lee Burden Hill

August 11, 1968 – February 15, 2020

Lee Burden Hill, 51, was a loving mother, a snow skier and sun-lover, a fantastic friend, and shopaholic.  She passed away peacefully on February 15 at North Fulton Regional Hospital with family at her side. Born August 11, 1968 in Franklin, Georgia to Sara Brown Burden and Claude Burden, Lee played soccer and learned to snow ski as a child. She loved her summers at Camp Dixie, riding Whiskey, the horse no one else could ride. She graduated from Norcross High School in 1986and then from Auburn University in 1990. She was a "Little Sister" of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, where she danced, laughed and made lifelong friends.

Her business management degree served her well throughout her careers as director of a daycare, manager for several different professional staffing companies, and entrepreneur with her own recruiting business. She loved helping others succeed, loved improving herself, loved to travel, and loved to meet new people.

Lee's daily mission was to make every life she touched a little bit better: the cashier at the grocery store, the lunch counter worker, the pharmacist… she made everyone feel better after a conversation with her. She was universally loved.

Before her own two beautiful children, Lee started motherhood to a dozen Golden Retriever puppies. She enjoyed countless pets before Hunter and Madison came into her world. Her "mom mode" was stronger than most. She did bake sales, Girl Scouts, high school booster clubs (running the Friday Night Hornet BBQ) – anything to stay close to her kids. Holidays, birthdays and any special occasion required significant planning, and usually lasted a week, not a day. That was Lee's way – she took great joy in seeing others' happiness. She'll be fondly remembered for her green beans, her amazing cakes, her unmatched wrapping ability, her zest for life, and love for her family. Always smiling.

Lee is survived by her husband, Patrick Hill, her children, Hunter Hill of Buckhead and Madison Hill of Roswell, her mother and father, Sara and Claude, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 23, 2-4 p.m. at Lakeside Funeral Home in Woodstock. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell. In lieu of flowers , the family asks for donations to Lucky Huskies or North Fulton Community Charities .
