Leland Tim Prestridge passed away on Feb 20, 2024. He was 83 years old. Tim was born on August 4, 1940 in Nauvoo, Alabama. He was the second of Milford and Julia Prestridge's three sons. Tim spent most of his childhood in Birmingham, where he met Regina Bearden, his wife of 65 years. The pair were married by the time Tim was 18 and started a family soon after. Tim and Regina made their home in the Atlanta area and found themselves keeping family tradition by raising 3 wonderful boys, Greg, Brad, and Wade, who kept their home full of energy and activity.

Tim was incredibly hardworking and creative. As busy as his boys kept him, he managed an impressive career with JC Penney. He began by putting up signs in storefronts and ended as Market Media Manager, a position that landed him in Plano, Texas for 10 years. He and Regina loved their time in Texas but were excited to retire to their home on Lake Martin in Dadeville, Alabama, which had long been a gathering place for their big family. Tim spent his retirement years fixing up the house, enjoying the time and the cooking of his much-loved wife, playing lots of golf, watching Auburn football, and continuing to host his kids and grandkids at the lake.

Tim was a reliable source of loyalty, generosity, and sound advice for all his friends and family, but especially his sons. He was artistic and thoughtful, and he could fix just about anything. Rarely do people relish in the type of chaos of which 8 noisy children are capable, but Tim took sincere joy in being surrounded by his grandchildren. He invested much of the time and energy at his disposal into his role as their PawPaw. He pulled them around the lake on tubes and skis for hours at a time, played late night card games, and traveled across the country to support them in performances, graduations, birthdays, or sports games. His intentionality and love will be deeply missed.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Julia Prestridge, his brothers, Roddy and Danny Prestridge, his cherished son, Bradley Scott Prestridge, and his beloved wife of 65 years, Regina Prestridge. He leaves behind his sons, Greg (Jill) Prestridge, Wade (Shelly) Prestridge, his daughter in law, Misty Prestridge, his 8 grandchildren, Bethany, Stephanie, Allison, Timothy, Justin, Aimee, Hunter and Devin, and his 12 great grandchildren.
