Mae Ragsdale Long was born in 1926 in the Cherokee County community Toonigh. She joined Little River United Methodist Church at age 12, where she was a devoted member, volunteering in every position, including teaching Sunday School for 35 years.  The church is also where she met her husband, Byron Long, (the mention of his name could still bring a twinkle to her eye).  She had 2 sons she was very proud of, Jimmy T. Long and Roger D. Long, 2 grandchildren, Brad Long (Donna) and Heather Long, and two great-grandchildren, all of whom greatly admired and loved her.  Mae's priorities in life never changed:  God was first, with her family next and then the Church.  Mae was an amazing woman always ready to help or aid.  She will be missed by all.
