Maria was born in Havana, Cuba and was a wonderful daughter and sister. Her father was a manager at the Royal Bank of Canada in Havana. She married her husband, Dr. Angel Reinaldo Valdes, on a beautiful windy evening December 29, 1956. The couple immigrated to the United States in 1968 with their two young children, Angel and Carmen. The family settled in Smyrna, Delaware where her husband was a physician at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill. They retired in 1990 and moved to Coral Gables, Florida and enjoyed many happy years with extended family and friends. Maria lived to care for her family. She was a caregiver to her ailing brother as a child, her father, her mother, and her husband with dementia. She prayed the Rosary multiple times daily and always concluded with a Rosary for world peace. Maria came to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Woodstock in 2021, the year the Braves won the World Series! She was a massive baseball fan. She never missed a Braves, Marlins or Yankees game. She ate ice cream every day! She is survived by her son Angel Valdes and daughter-in-law Robin Valdes, grandchildren Katie Kincius (Patrick), Rebecca Valdes, Michael Valdes (Emma), her daughter Carmen Havrilla and son-in-law Jeffrey Havrilla, grandsons Joseph Regester and Matthew Regester. She has two great grandchildren, Connor and Sloane Kincius. She was profoundly loved and will be in our hearts always.
