Marilyn A. Goodwin, age 79, beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Goodwin, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, in Woodstock Georgia. Born in Bridgeport Connecticut on July 29, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathryn (Fecino) Cocchiola.

After Marilyn and Joseph married in 1964, they moved to Trumbull CT, where she raised her family and called home for many decades until her retirement to Woodstock GA.  She was a determined and hard-working woman who continued her mother's tradition of faith, family and feast, especially her Italian American Christmas Eve celebration. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Ama".  She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, traveling, Broadway shows and catching up with lifelong friends. Marilyn will be forever remembered for her kindness, love and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.  Her presence will be deeply missed but her memory will be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Cherishing her memory, she leaves behind three loving children, Joann Bresnahan and her husband Daniel of Wethersfield, CT, Mark Goodwin and his wife Elisa Volpati of Bethel, CT, Kathy Martin and her husband Larry of Woodstock, GA, a brother, Dr. C. Ronald Cocchiola and his wife Nancy of CT, sister in law, Patricia Mattie of NY, her cherished grandchildren, Brittni Kaufman and her husband Tom, Haley, Luke, Shane and Talia Bresnahan, Xander and Anna Goodwin and Joshua, Julia and Ryan Martin, her cherished great-grandchildren, Zoe and Owen Kaufman as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mass services will be held in Georgia and Connecticut.
