Obituary

Marshal Lee Millikan, a loving husband, wise father, gentle grandfather, and dedicated missionary, passed away on January 4th, 2024 at "home" with family in Roswell, Georgia, after two years of battling colon cancer. He was born on September 28th, 1946 in Maryville, Missouri to Herman "Bud" Millikan and "Bennie" Maxine Louthan.

Marsh's life was marked by his unwavering passion for people to understand the new and victorious life that Christ gives to every believer through salvation. A few years after graduating from the University of Maryland where he met and later married the love of his life, Joy, they embarked on an extraordinary journey as a loving couple for 54 years and as missionaries for 44 of those years.

They first served in the mountains of Mexico among the Taraumara Indians. Then later Marsh took on the responsibilities of being the director of New Tribes Mission Mexico. This gave him the opportunity to minister to his community, fellow missionaries, local pastors, and numerous friends and neighbors. During this time his passion for sharing the message of resurrection life through Christ grew with increasing excitement and urgency.

Marshal leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew him best including his beloved wife Joy Millikan; children Nathan Millikan, Josh & Krystle Millikan, Natalie Millikan; grandchildren Sophia Cano, Josh & Sadie Cano, Iban Cano, Adele Kalies, Joaquin Carmona, Romina Carmona, Ethan Millikan, Aiden Millikan, and Connor Millikan; sister Marla Chambless, along with her husband Michael Chambless; and the ones who have been forever changed by his teaching and living example. He leaves an indelible mark on all those whose lives were touched by his teaching and his life. He truly lived out Acts 20:24 with unwavering conviction.
