It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Sorial Fahmy on March 29, 2023.  Born in Cairo, Egypt, Mary moved to the United States as an infant where she lived in Brooklyn, New York; Butler, Pennsylvania, and St. Petersburg, Florida.  She graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and Nova Southeastern University in Miami, Florida earning a Doctor of Optometry.  She married the love of her life Dr. Hany Fahmy in 1997 and moved to the Atlanta area shortly thereafter.  She served her community as a caring optometrist and was a member of St. Mark American Coptic Orthodox Church.  Mary was blessed with two children, Valerie born in 2001 and Christian born in 2005.  Mary showed love, generosity, and kindness to everyone around her. She is survived by her loving husband, Hany, and her two wonderful children Valerie and Christian, her mother Violet Sorial, her brother Magdy and his wife Nevine and their children, Mary's nephews Christopher and Daniel.  In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to Komen for the cure cancer research (Komen.org).  Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday March 31 2023 at St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox, 11450 Houze Road, Roswell, GA.  Funeral service will take place Saturday, April 1st at 3 pm at St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church in Roswell, GA.
