Obituary

Mary Jane Green, at age 101, passed away peacefully in Roswell, GA on
November 17, 2022.
Mary was born on July 23, 1921 in Auburn, NY to Joseph and Mary Heron
(Walsh). After graduating from Auburn High School and Auburn Business School,
she worked at American Locomotive Company and Cornell University.
In January 1946, Mary married her high school sweetheart, Raymond F. Green.
Mary and Ray settled in Maitland, FL in 1964 and raised five loving children.
Mary was devoted to her church, St. Mary Magdalen Church in Altamonte Springs,
FL, and was blessed to have served as a Eucharistic Minister, religious education
teacher, and volunteer in the Ministry to the Sick and the Bereavement Ministry.
Through their involvement with the church, Mary and Ray made lifelong friends
throughout the community. They enjoyed traveling extensively with their family
and treasured the time they spent together.
Ray passed away in 2018, and Mary relocated to Roswell, GA. Her delightfully
warm and engaging personality resulted in friends at the Fulton Senior Center as
well as a certain celebrity status in her new neighborhood.
Mary's legacy is a wonderfully thoughtful, generous, and loving wife, mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend, and neighbor.
Mary is survived by daughter-in-law Leslie of St. Cloud, FL, her children Stefanie
and Raymond (Chrissy); son Brian and wife Elizabeth of Helena, MT, and their
daughters Anna, Rachael (Rhys), and Kimberly; daughter Nancy, also of Helena,
MT, and her son Jonathan (Kristin); daughter Janice and husband Robert of
Ventura, CA and their daughters Kelly (John), Mary Beth (Bryce) and Marena;
daughter JoAnne and husband Jim of Roswell, GA and their children Jim (Lauren)
and Katie; and so many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mary was
predeceased by her son, Raymond, Jr.
Memorial contributions in honor of Mary Green may be made to the St. Labre
Indian School. St. Labre schools provide life-changing education, housing, and
meals to the Native American boys and girls of Montana. Please visit stlabre.org
