Michael James Harris, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away Sunday, July 12, at the age of 60. Beloved husband of Jennifer Cassidy Harris; Devoted father of Spencer and Payton (Katherine) Harris; Adoring Grandpa of Eva Harris; Loving son of Shirley and the late Lloyd Harris; Dear brother of Tim (Terri) Harris and Teresa (Paul) Schroeder; Loving Uncle of Bailey (Joshua) Shore; Eric (Courtney) Harris; Claire (Ryan) Niswonger; Casey (Jacob) Neldon; and Emily Olson; Loving Great-Uncle of Matthew, Benjamin and Gabriella Shore; Maverick, Mackenzie, Madelyn and Matilda Harris; River Niswonger; and Keegan Olson; Dear Nephew of Frank (Sharon Rifkin) Harris; Loving son-in-law of Richard and Sherry Cassidy; Dear brother-in-law of Kelley & Heather Cassidy; loving cousin of Anna (Sean Stamper) White; Katie (Mitchell) Tucker; Cynthia (Samuel Beyes) White; and Sandy (Stephen) Doyle; and dear friend to many.
Mike grew up in Kirkwood, Missouri, where, as a young boy, he could often be found playing baseball and football at Marshall Field. A proud graduate of Kirkwood High School, he cherished his hometown and looked forward to returning at Thanksgiving for the annual Turkey Day Game—the oldest high school football rivalry west of the Mississippi River—and the football alumni breakfast, where he enjoyed reconnecting with former teammates and lifelong friends.
Mike graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1988. Following graduation, he began his career in the outdoor advertising department at D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles. After several years, he joined Anheuser-Busch, where he built a successful career and remained a dedicated employee until his passing.
Wherever Mike went, laughter was sure to follow. Whether he was entertaining family and friends with his unforgettable Chris Farley "living in a van down by the river" impression or simply enjoying the company of those around him, he had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and included.
Above all else, Mike was most proud of his two sons, Spencer and Payton. No amount of distance could keep him from being the father he wanted to be. He regularly drove 18 to 30 hours to spend time with them, attend their games and events, and create lasting memories together. His love for his boys was unwavering, and they were the greatest joy of his life.
Mike was a devoted and loving grandfather to his precious granddaughter, Eva, who brought him immeasurable joy. He treasured every moment they spent together, delighting in spoiling her and making every opportunity to visit. When distance kept them apart, he would use FaceTime so that he wouldn't miss a moment of her growing up. Before visiting, he would excitedly say, "I'm so excited to see Eva!" Then, with his signature sense of humor, he'd add, "Oh yeah... I guess I'm excited to see you both too," teasing Payton and Kat with a smile. His deep love for Eva and the joy she brought to his life will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
Although Mike and Jennifer had known each other since 1998, their friendship blossomed into a beautiful love story in 2016. They were married on September 23, 2023, surrounded by love and happiness. Mike and Jennifer were the loves of each other's lives. Their marriage was built on unwavering love, deep friendship, and mutual devotion, and they treasured every moment they were blessed to share together.
