Myra Groper Ferrara, 83 of Woodstock, GA passed away on October 13, 2022.
Myra lived in Woodstock, GA for 13 years. She retired from bookkeeping for Arvida in 2006. She was born in Montreal, Canada in 1938 and became a U.S. citizen in 1961.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Fanny Groper. She was survived by her husband of 62 years, Vincent Ferrara. She is also survived by her 2 daughters, Laurie (Andy), and Lynn. Myra is survived by her grandchildren, Michelle, Tyler, and Katelyn, along with great grandchildren, Brooke Lynn, Giovanni, Rowan, Owen, and Nolan, by her sisters in Canada - Florence Cytrynbaum, Isabelle Baird, and by her sister-in-law Rosemarie Colombero of Woodstock, GA. She is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews in Georgia and Canada. She was blessed with many cousins as well. Growing up in the Groper family Myra had many memories. Later in her life, she lived next door to her sister-in-law, Rosemarie in the Orchards of East Cherokee and we all joked about it being the "family compound" since they were located right next to each other.
In their earlier years, Myra and Vincent met while riding horses at a ranch in New York. They loved to volunteer in SCCA auto racing. Each year at Thanksgiving, Myra handmade the family's Italian pastry recipe for many years as a holiday tradition.
