Nancy Miller Fowler passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, after an 18-month illness.
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Nancy moved with her family to California briefly during middle school before settling in Atlanta, Georgia, where she would spend the remainder of her life. A graduate of Sandy Springs High School, Nancy went on to have a fulfilling career as an administrative aide at companies including Burger King, Medtronic, and Akzo Nobel. She was a member of First Baptist Church Woodstock for nearly 35 years, serving in many roles, notably as a greeter at the children's door, in the Homebound program, and in the Women's Ministry.
Nancy was the life of the party and never met a stranger. Her vivaciousness, warmth, and genuine interest in those around her drew everyone in. She loved life and the people who shared it with her. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and, to her great delight in her final years, grandmother. She cherished her friends, whom she considered family, as well as the friends of her children, all of whom she loved and kept up with throughout the years. Nancy loved the simple things in life, including a good book, a cat in her lap, and evenings spent on a screened-in porch, but she also appreciated a grand adventure, relishing the many trips near and far that she and her family took over the years.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Walter Eugene Fowler, Jr.; her children, Angela Parks Masand (Prakash) and Matthew David Parks (Joy); her grandchildren, Jack Michael Pfannkuch and Madelyn Elizabeth Parks; her brother, Michael Carl Miller (Becky), and her beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Floyd Miller and Luanna Spurgeon Miller.
