Obituary

Raymond Edward Reilly, 83, was a man full of life with a smile that lit up the room. His joy was infectious and his strength was admirable - a true warrior persevering through any adversity that came his way. He was an example of a man who gave his whole heart to anyone he met - he will always be remembered for his heart, his smile, his sense of humor and most importantly, for his love.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughters, Alice, Denice, Charlie, Renee, and Jaclyn; his son, Bobby; and his grandchildren, Michael, Heather, Zachary, David Jr., Brandon, Matthew, Raelyn, and Bella. He will be deeply missed but all are grateful that he is standing tall, dancing to Frank Sinatra and Frankie Valli while enjoying a beverage of his choice.

Ray was born in New Jersey on March 2, 1935. He was raised in Brooklyn, New York with his mom, Lillian; Dad, James; sister, Lisa; and brothers, George and Jimmy. Ray moved to Los Angeles, California where he met his wife Linda while working in the financial industry in 1981. They married in 1982. He loved her children and raised them with a house full of love. Ray was a standup guy; known for loving the horse races, playing golf, grilling the best chicken and london broil, having well-groomed hair, and having a heart full of gold. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia with his girls where he lived a wonderful 11 years being loved by so many. He became especially fond of his buddy, Brian, whose selflessness and care of Ray will forever be remembered.

Ray was well loved and loved well. Through his wife's sacrificial love, Ray had the opportunity to remain at home through his final years. On Tuesday, September 13, 2018, he was surrounded by his loved ones at home, holding his daughters' hands and looking endearingly at his wife, when he peacefully gave his final breath before meeting our Lord. Heaven is rejoicing for having gained one of the greatest angels and although his loved ones are left without his earthly body, we too have gained one of the greatest angels.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Lakeside Funeral Home located at 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA, 30188. Visitation begins at 10am and the service, conducted by Pastor Alan Daniels from Cobb Community Church, will begin at 12pm. Ray's family wants to express their heartfelt gratitude for all of your love and support and we thank you for being part of the many memories that will be forever cherished.
