Richard Alan Weaver passed unexpectedly in his home Friday, December 11th, 2020. He was 67 years old.
Richard grew up near Maidenhead in the United Kingdom. He fondly recalled his childhood with his brother Steven G. Weaver, surrounded by castle grounds, ancient forests, and the river Thames. He followed his family to the states when his father began working as an engineer at Lockheed Martin in Marietta. His yearbook from F.T. Wills High School is full of friends and teammates praising him for his skill as a kicker on the football team and as a star soccer player. After losing both his mother, Rose Anne Weaver and his father, Alan G. Weaver, he and his brother helped care for his younger sister, Marie E. Weaver. Later, he completed his bachelor's degree at Georgia State University.
He met his first wife Julie Croker in high school, with whom he had his cherished son, Justin A. Weaver. With his son he shared his love of the outdoors, history, and athletics. Some of their most cherished times together were the road trips they took together to attend Justin's out-of-state baseball games. He devoted many years to his work as a salesman for Dunbar Armored, connecting with clients and coworkers with his natural warmth and humor.
He later met and married his beloved wife of 17 years, Lisa M. (Shelly) McCook, blending families with her son, George M. (Mac) Hulbert. After his son married Erika C. Weaver, they gave Richard the gift of five beloved grandchildren: Kallie, Karson, Korie, Kendal, and Kaden Weaver. Richard and his wife cherished their time with their grandchildren, and Richard shared his love of athletics with a new generation by volunteering his time as a coach for their soccer teams.
Richard was a dependable, humble, and family-centered man. He took great joy in preparing for Christmas, and always shared Boxing Day with the people he loved most. He will be laid to rest at Kennesaw Mountain Memorial Park on December 21st, 2020 at 2:00pm with an intimate gathering of friends and family. His memory will live on in his surviving wife, son, stepson, grandchildren, brother, sister, and extended family in England.
