Robert (Bud) Dees, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Bud was a longtime resident of the metro Atlanta area and lived several years in Woodstock.
Bud is survived by his mother, Patricia Burgess, of Atlanta, his sister, Laura Dees of Atlanta, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is celebrated through his lifelong friends, Sonny Crumpton, Jason Jewett, Nathan Jewett, Ian McGee, Rick Moore, and Jackie Myers.
As an avid sports fan, Bud served the Woodstock community as General Manager of the popular Game Day Grill and was loved by all who met him. His smile and laughter were contagious and his care of others before himself was the hallmark of his character.
Through his enthusiastic love of sports, he touched the lives of many.
Bud was a positive force of nature and his love for life was shown in his every action. Someone said of Bud, "He never wanted to be the center of attention, but always ended up being there".
Bud believed in teamwork and sportsmanship and tried to pass that on to everyone he met. He sponsored many local sports teams and also hosted their events; celebrating victories and sharing in the disappointment of their losses.
We honor Bud and are grateful for the brief time we shared with him. He was truly loved and will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. The many memories of him will be carried in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Lakeside Funeral Home, 121 Claremore Drive, Woodstock, GA.
