Obituary

Robert   Estapa passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, just three days before his 95th birthday. He was in Canton Nursing Home recovering from a broken leg.

Robert  E. L  Estapa was born in Gulfport, Mississippi in 1926, to Alphonse and Ruby (Dorman) Estapa.  He is preceded in death by his wife Ora, parents,  brother Wincle, sisters Ruby Ladner and Iva Minchew. He and Ora would have celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary later this month.

Robert was a World War II veteran serving in the Army.  He was retired from Delta Airlines after 38 years of service.  With his job, he lived in New Orleans, Lousiana, Memphis, Tennessee, and College Park, Georgia. He and Ora must have liked to move because they also lived in Temple, Georgia, Fort Myers, Florida, Blairsville, Georgia, Jasper, Georgia, and finally in Woodstock Georgia.

He and Ora traveled to many parts of the world together by air and cruise ships. They were always bringing home fun pictures and stories to share with us at home.  For their 60th wedding anniversary, they celebrated with a cruise to the Caribbean with over 60 friends and family traveling with them.

Robert is survived by his and Ora's three sons; David (wife, June), Keith and Mike (wife Teresa), five grandchildren; Chris Estapa, Kelly Ricci(husband Robert), Brian Estapa (wife Allison), Patrick Estapa (wife Molly) and Danny Estapa (wife Erin) and six great-grandchildren Eli, Jackson, Jonah, Hoyt, Tatum, and Bennett.  In addition to the family members mentioned above, through the years there were foster children of Mike and Teresa who brought much joy into their lives.  The current foster child's name is Ryan.

We will remember Robert as a loving Dad, PapPa, brother, and Uncle Bob.  In addition to his great love for his family and friends, we must also remember how much he loved coffee, candy, ice cream, and peanuts.
