Obituary

Robb, age 51, of Canton, Georgia, passed away on September 2, 2022, while fighting a rare autoimmune disease. Born December 1, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio. Robb is survived by his wife Terri Gentry Ortman, his son Zachary Ortman, parents Stephen and Mary L (Lani) Ortman, brother Patrick Ortman (Kathi & niece Isla), stepson JD (Shelby & granddaughter Octavia) Gentry, stepdaughter Rachael (Zak) Bratz, stepsons Schuyler (Ashley) Gentry, John (Jorie & grandson Miles) Gentry and many friends (especially Don Baker & Cassie, Kent Kurland, Geoff Croon, Jeff Dickerson, & Preston "Cooley" Slayden) and his two faithful rescue dogs Bode and Mocha.

Robb graduated from Walton High School, Marietta, Ga; earned his bachelor's degree at Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Ga; graduated with a doctorate in law from Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University, Davie, Florida. He passed the Georgia and Florida bar exams and practiced law initially in Florida and then in Canton, Ga for the past 17+ years primarily in criminal defense. He was an advocate for the common citizen.

Robb played soccer, was a scuba diver, hiked the mountains of north Georgia, became a cyclist (completed a 100-mile marathon ride after having a hip replaced), and maintained an avid interest in each sport. He became a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan while attending law school. Although he played only one year of little league baseball, he taught his son Zach how to play and love the game. (Zach now has plans to play pro ball.) Robb completed a longtime dream to write and publish a book - "The Interviews" (a novella) was published in December 2021 under his pen-name Lazarus. He also recently had a short story "The Race" published online by Potato Soup Journal. He recently created the website "Root for Justice" which will continue in his memory. He had culinary interests and was always developing new recipes to try on his friends and family with plans to open his own restaurant in Panama City Beach.

Despite a multitude of physical and other problems that caused him a tremendous amount of pain over the years, Robb found God through his wife Terri's loving example and was joyful and at peace through his final earthly battles.
