Robert Leon White went home to Jesus on September 15, 2021, at age 89.
Bob was born to George and Florence White on June 14, 1932, in Donelson, Tennessee. As a child born in the depression era, Jesus' love was modeled by his parents who frequently brought home people in need of a warm meal and shelter. This foundation of service formed Bob's giving and loving heart.
Bob met his wife Mary in Orlando during their childhood years while attending the same church. He graduated from Winter Park High School and Stetson University before serving two years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Shortly after his return, they married in 1955 and went on to have two children, Ric and Wendy. They raised their children in Brandon, Florida where they lived for 35 years and where he became a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Bell Shoals Baptist Church. Upon retirement, they moved to Canton, GA, and became members of First Baptist Woodstock where he served as a teacher of a Men's Bible Study Group and a mentor to many.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving Dad, Bob also loved music, playing tennis, water sports, and Auburn football. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
Bob joins his parents, his brothers Earl and Leonard White, his sister Doris Bass, as well as his son Ric in Heaven. He is survived by his wife Mary L. White, his daughter Wendy A. White, daughter-in-law Tera White, granddaughter Katie Nerio and her husband Solomon, and his great-granddaughter Rory. Additionally, he is survived by his brother-in-law John M. Ratliff and his wife Judy, sister-in-law Elizabeth A. Ratliff and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
