Miss Sarah Ratcliffe Tusing (73) passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, after a courageous battle with a terminal illness.

She is survived by her daughter, Henley Sawicki, and grandson, Tanner.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Irby and Mabel Ratcliffe and siblings, Harry and Tom.

Born in Camden, Alabama, Sarah lived an adventurous life in Alabama, Florida, and New Hampshire, before settling in Canton, Georgia to be near her family nearly 20 years ago.  Sarah most recently worked for the Cherokee County School District, retiring four years ago.

Professionally and privately, she embodied a strong work ethic, high standards, and an attention to detail that was unrivaled. She loved nothing more than spending time with her daughter exploring new places, shopping, or just talking about life. Sarah appreciated delicious food, beautiful things, and a good book. She lived her life with joy, laughter, understanding, and empathy for others. Sarah will always be remembered for her smile, her laugh, her words of wisdom, and her fighting spirit.

She will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A private Celebration of Life with close family and friends will be planned in lieu of a public service.
